WHO: Unity is the antidote to COVID-19

WHO held a routine press conference for COVID-19, in response to US President Trump and US Secretary of State Pompeo said COVID-19 came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Maria Van Kokhov, technical director of the WHO Health Emergency Program , COVID-19 is generally spread in bats. At present, about 15,000 complete viral gene sequences show that COVID-19 is not artificial. WHO cooperates with FAO and the World Animal Health Organization and various departments in China to discover COVID-19. Intermediate host animals to avoid spreading from animals to humans again.

The head of the WHO health emergency project, Michael Ryan, said that WHO did not receive evidence from the US that the virus came from the Wuhan Virus Research Institute. From the WHO's perspective, this statement is speculative. Michael Ryan pointed out that, given that information on the source of the virus is critical for public health prevention and control, if the United States has relevant data or evidence, it should indicate whether or when such information can be shared publicly. Michael Ryan emphasized that based on genetic sequence evidence and all the opinions received by WHO, it shows that the virus originated from nature, and Chinese scientists have been communicating and cooperating with the world, and can exchange learning and exchange relevant knowledge.

At the regular press conference on the 4th, World Health Organization Director General Tan Desai urged the world to unite and defeat COVID-19. He emphasized that unity is the antidote to COVID-19.

Tan Desai said that COVID-19 is a common threat to the world and an opportunity for the world to create a common future. He expressed appreciation for the 7.4 billion euros fundraising held by the European Commission against the COVID-19 Global Pledge Conference and called on the world to jointly develop and share tools to defeat COVID-19. Tan Desai said that the true measure of success is not only how quickly we can develop tools against COVID-19, but also how we distribute them fairly. Everyone should be protected, and no one is safe until everyone is safe.
