Cotton Voile Fabric Information
Voile is French for veil, which perfectly describes this gauze-like, free flowing material. Voile fabric is a plain-woven, dressy fabric that is very lightweight and does not scratch the skin. While tulle is stiff and scratchy, cotton voile has the benefits of gauze without the familiar drawbacks of synthetic fibers. Voile is typically used for elegant curtains and drapes, and is also popular as a volumizer underneath other fabrics, as it drapes well and has excellent breathability. Voile can also be used in summer attire, from breezy skirts and blouses to sun dresses. Voile is machine washable on delicate, and should be laid flat or hung to dry.
