Silk scarves have been a symbol of elegance and fashion since ancient times. The Hepburn style is also popular among countless women who love silk scarves. No matter in a transparent summer dress or a serious formal dress, a silk scarf flutters around the neck, and when it is looming, it not only shows the unique sexiness of women, but also is reserved and not frivolous, which is an elegant and advanced beauty.

With so many silk scarves on the market, many silk scarf fans don't know how to choose. Today, I will start with the raw materials of silk scarves and tell you what is so good about a good silk scarf.

raw material

A good silk scarf is made of 100% mulberry silk. Silk is rich in 18 essential amino acids and natural porous protein fiber components. It has a good regulating effect on the blood circulation and metabolism of the human body during sleep, and can enhance the cell vitality of the human skin, thereby achieving the effect of delaying and nourishing the skin.

Weaving

plain weave

The warp and weft yarns are interlaced every other yarn. The weaving points are densely arranged, and there is no difference between the front and back, so the plain weave has a firm texture, a scratchy surface, and a smooth surface, but it feels hard. Plain weave is lighter and thinner, and has better air permeability. The structure of plain weave determines its low density, generally speaking, the price of plain weave fabric is relatively low.

Twill

In twill fabric, the warp and weft are interwoven at least every two yarns, that is, 2 up and 1 down or 3 up and 1 down. Adding warp and weft interweaving points to change the fabric structure is collectively referred to as twill fabric. The characteristic of this kind of cloth is that it is relatively thick and has a strong three-dimensional texture. The number of counts is 40, 60, etc.

The twill fabric is easier to identify, because the interweaving point of the warp and weft threads of the twill fabric presents a structure of twill lines at a certain angle on the surface of the fabric. It is characterized by front and back sides, fewer interweaving points, longer floating lines, soft hand feeling, better luster and elasticity, and the method of increasing warp density is usually used to improve the strength of twill fabric. The density is higher, the product is thicker, and the organization has a stronger three-dimensional effect.

plain-twill-satin

satin

The warp and weft are interwoven at least every three yarns. Among the fabrics, the density is the highest and the thickest, and the cloth surface is smoother, more delicate, and full of luster, but the product cost is higher, so the price will be relatively expensive.

The satin weaving process is relatively complicated, and only one of the warp and weft yarns covers the surface in the form of floating lengths. The longer floating length makes the surface of the fabric have better luster and is easy to reflect light.

Long floating threads in satin weave are prone to fraying, fluffing or fibers being picked out. Therefore, the strength of this type of fabric is lower than that of plain and twill fabrics. The fabric with the same yarn count has higher satin density and thicker, and the cost is also higher.

design

The design of each silk scarf must have a story to attract consumer groups. In addition to being used as a silk scarf, a good silk scarf is often framed or bought for collection.

The color of the scarf

The color matching of silk scarves is mainly reflected in: 1) the diversity and complexity of colors on a silk scarf; 2) the coordination of all colors on a silk scarf. Taking Hermès as an example, all the pigments of Hermès are prepared and produced in its own factory, using first-class raw materials. Hermès currently has 75,000 different colors. Hermès releases 20 new patterns and colors every year, and each pattern has 15 different color schemes. Then, the color palette committee in Paris selected the 10 best schemes out of 15 schemes. Each silk scarf contains an average of 27-36 colors.

Printing and dyeing

screen printing

As the name suggests, the main body of its printing is the screen, and the ink passes through the extremely fine screen printing plate and is leaked onto the substrate, making the pattern of the silk scarf more delicate.

digital printing

Simply speaking, the production process of digital printing is to input various digital patterns into the computer through various digital means such as scanning, digital photos, images or computer processing, and then process them through the computer color separation printing system, and then pass them through special RIP software. For its printing system, various special dyes (reactive, disperse, acidic main coatings) are directly spray-printed on the fabric, and after processing, various high-precision printing products required are obtained on the fabric.

With its characteristics of low pollution, low consumption, low proofing cost, rich colors, and good effect consistency, digital printing makes up for the shortcomings and defects of traditional silk printing. However, the low degree of color reduction has always been a technical bottleneck limiting its industrial application.

Solid color

Color fixation is to fix the color of the silk scarf to ensure firm coloring so that the silk scarf will not fade easily during use and washing. After the printing and dyeing is completed, each piece of silk is cut to the designed size. The silk scarves that have just been printed and dyed need to be steamed at a certain temperature. After steaming, the silk scarves are washed and finalized. The color fixing process is time consuming.

roll edge

A good hand-curled edge can reach the needle angle that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

In addition to the complicated table printing, hand curling is also a difficult process in the silk scarf making process, and it is an important detail that reflects the quality of silk scarves. In order to present the perfect curling, manual curling takes at least 30-40 minutes for each silk scarf, and the dense stitching reverse curling ensures the skin-friendly comfort and durability of the scarf, allowing the wearer to feel The tenderness and care of the craftsman.
